Definitions of words are understood by humanity because of the comprehension that the meaning of the word is deemed fact, but what is the definition of unity? Does globalization really unite humanity, or is it the first stage to a united humanity?
Perhaps, unity is a romantic perspective resulted from a positive outlook that accepts the attempts to sway differences without sacrificing the uniqueness of cultural identity. Unfortunately, this ideal possible definition does not exist throughout societies, thus limiting the vary understanding of the word 'unity' to the definition only to private groups or criques, hence inadvertently supporting the separation in society. Differences cannot be avoided yet obstructions to unity are silently accepted without so much as experiencing stimulated internal conflict because not every individual accepts the one who is different. Unity, as a definition, requires the efforts of everyone to understand, in order for the definition to be fully respected and the word to have power.
Although, in an ideal world, this is true, there will always be challenges to a genuine globalized unity; the basic step to change as with everything, begins with the self. If each person contributed the effort to the self, not only for self-benefit but also for understanding human behaviour, but also for the goal of understanding both others and the underestimated self.
What causes conflictions and fear, in the depth of the subconscious mind, that causes one to conflict with others and the self to aim for defense, instead of questioning the self's reaction or response to the other person's differences?
Everyone cultivates personal perspectives throughout life, within the influence of the unique culture experienced in developmental years, establishing selected identity. The identified diversity molded foundations of ancestral inheritance that, even today, grants us the subtle sense of unsought privilege, in silent gratitude, honoring centuries of our ancestors sacrifice. This instinct buried deep within our genetic code, so powerful, claims a speechless voice of the subconscious, in moments of sublime serenity, that influences our choices, without acknowledgement of identity nor demand of gratitude. A powerful impact, attuned to emotion's tide and neutrality's solum balance, arrayed in a single person, composing, you. How ceremoniously unique yet gravely overlooked, striving forward with the independent attitude, consciously defining acknowledgement solely to the self. Pride fuels our self-esteem upon completion of successful goals to empower confidence, but what quality of actions boosts pride?
The immediate answer a shielded conscious claim is, 'good deeds--of course' or 'pleasing loved ones' or similar responses, guised in human survivor mode of self-denial, when the primal mind already executed actions for reward regardless of lacking acknowledgement. Why, the necessity to create a different you--as though nature hasn't already accomplished this wonder... The directed coddling of insecurities to limit expectations of ourselves, as though our intuition lacks ability to discover the limitless strengths of our genetic inheritance. The one unspoken benefit--insecurities vitally cling upon--is the sense of false security, provided through a pleased subconscious... How vital for insecurity 's survival is a coddled conscious? Why protect the conscious from a personally unacceptable reality? Although life harbors enough difficulties, are we not causing more challenges venturing into an easy escape, denying our internal truth that mirrors the unsavory view of ourselves within, while the external chaos of potential disagreement, instigated by diversity, silently affects us?
We perform our best proving ourselves capable of accomplishment and value, yet beliefs own a fundamental role in accepting ourselves. In my generation, the media played an influencial part, during development, that limited angles of perception by focusing on presenting repeated messages. Fortunately, throughout the years, frequent regional relocation aided acceptance and analysis of diversity throughout my upbringing, opened the vantage point to view the pros and cons of unfolding evolved diversity. Focusing on the positive benefits, while, accepting awareness and acknowledgement of the root composition, of the self... The good, bad, and ugly, collectively assist non-judgemental balance.
There is no genuine bliss in blindness when one owns the will to see, believing that the safety of a dim light is not a form of darkness. Our ancestors legacy offers an inheritance abundantly enriched through the nature of unified efforts in humanity. The majority of societies suffered challenges and famine, throughout history, by being able to accept diversity, collaborating in unity, to counter debilitating circumstances. Communities breathed life, in daily activities, offline living lacked swift progress yet offered humble opportunities to claim responsibilities, offering balance in social health. Differences of traits and personality contributed to the community's benefits, welcoming the richness of each person's unique strength, without chastising in comparisons; the same perspective ideally carries upon cultural diversity. This is a shift of view many societies have adopted in globalization, yet differences in perspective sorrowfully cause conflict to military degree. Humanity deems itself advanced enough to create breakthroughs of extraordinary proportions yet continues to contradict the acceptance of basic unity. The mutual understanding and peaceful acceptance of cultural diversity, in consideration to compromise, without heated outbreaks conducive to excessive demands and outlandish acts of violence. Every person contemplating the creation of life should first consider the direction of human behaviour and how adverse reactions to global conflicts may affect their future generations. To breed is easy, animals prove this without a second thought; humanity's awareness crowns greater responsibility to the planet... This, planet, shared with knotted complexities contributed to conflicts of intolerance to diversities.
Our beloved responsible ancestors, who sacrificed everything, offered their survival genetic code through epigenetic trauma. Traumas experienced through challenges in history within less convenient living standards yet aided as evolved strengths as our legacy. Our ancestors' gifts and challenges are passed unto us. How they dealt with and reacted to intense emotions derived from stressful traumatic events remains a complex code within us. They lacked the convenience of reference to methodically tested studies of cerebral health, as well as time's leisure to research and learn. Waking up at four in the morning, to tend to livestock and necessary tasks, to ensure daily nourishment, consumed crucial time. As romantic as modern achievement is, our ancestors' unstoppable grit provided the luxury we blissfully relish today... Yet this is noted as a sacrifice because the vital healing needed of past violence was never healed, instead passed unto our genetic composition. The wars, injustice, dishonorable behaviour, our ancestors witnessed, left traumatic scars for future generations to endure in unpredictable ways; such as abnormalities in cellular tissues and abusive behaviours that affected the lives of others. Although, not intentional, this toxic suppressive cycle carried through genetic code. This unhealthy acceptance became necessarily dismissed for survival in turbulent times, then... But do we need to carry this toxic cycle to our future generations, now? Within a modern evolved world, the reactions to extremely stressful emotions, marked in unacceptable unjustified external events, conduces challenging for internal acceptance, instilling fearful insecurities, resulting in undesirable conflictions, hence repeated unfavorable behaviour.
Every creature owns purpose in the ecosystem, but no creature's adaptive development reflects that of a human's rate. Because, our demanding physical development claims more natural resources than any other life form, we ethically return efforts in the measure taken; otherwise, all efforts before our existence are nullified, rendering the quality of our future generations to the same measure of meaninglessness.
We cannot flick a switch to change all disagreement globally without changing our own perspective first. Although, in some cases, the easy way out appeals; had such a switch existed, we'd race to reach it. The first small steps build momentum toward the optimal best; we can offer future generations, without hasty judgement towards the limitations and trauma our amazing ancestors endured. We do our best, as our ancestors, and learn through marching forward, graced with proved knowledge and faith in our personal strongholds, after applying efforts to healing our past, for the benefit of everyone's child.
