Generational Gap

The accepted differences between our parents' generation, their parents' generation, and our children's generations are   dismissed as   similar yet distinctly different.  Phrases similar to, "When I was your age..."...  "Life was more difficult..." ...  or "Life was harder but better, then..." embellish childhood memories, as jingles from familiar television sitcoms, that carried us from mundane moments separating familiarity between decades of differences.   Differences are not weaknesses--they are opportunities to advance approaches of personal perceptions thus evolving through potential difficulties in diverse ways.  Attempting to understand differences is the cornerstone to expanding one's perspective view. Our perceptions significantly influence   the instigation of action and impact belief systems that may or may not hinder overall decision making in life.

Considering origins opens up overlooked gateways that aides in comprehending how we choose to limit ourselves.

Mindfully, to understand our loved ones, we consider the difficulties endured in tragic circumstances throughout the History of their development, silencing judgements as successfully as possible--a trick at times to tame. Their survival stories of compromise, sacrifice and endurance, influence encouragement, strike pride for our genetic origins, and, in comparison, humble the lofty comforts we are accustomed to today. Their experiences simply subside within the caduceus of intricate signals arranged strategically in perfect order within. A coded library within each of us that anonymously influences silently without gain... an internal benevolence not acknowledged nor celebrated, rather claimed   modestly by the individual as an invisible crown.

Ironically, at times, ignorance arrays, we dismiss the main course of understanding, distracted by the tumultuous waves that inevitably define us in chosen action... by averting attentions from complete awareness in all things including ourselves.

Fortunately, as an ever-evolving humanity, awareness is crowned as prominent and sufficient, but how aware are we with life's demanding routines of limitless tasks? Who considers such, when fifteen minutes of meditation is all the free time we have between work, family, friends, fitness and personal growth?

Ah... Now those trite childhood jingles tickle memory's monitor, "Life was simpler than..."... "Life was harder but better..." Hmm.

By reviewing the early development of our loved ones, identifying key events that influenced their lives, empathetically dedicating time to understand the differences between our generational gaps, we open perspectives towards accepting the origins of ourselves, as well as breaking the link of potential epigenetic traumas' affects thus limiting those potential effects for the future generations.

Awareness is a vital step to healing, igniting acceptance to examine the possible identifying cause, persuading endurance to take the next rung on the ladder towards healing... and, even those in denial know, we are all in the process of healing.

Just like everything worthwhile, healing is a journey that requires commitment and patience--it can't be rushed but does not have to be gruelling to endure.  CBT, (cognitive behavioural therapy), opens opportunities to venture through the cause of an obstructive behaviour that limits quality of life, through discussions, guidance, reconditioning thought patterns and commitment to change. EMDR, (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) and hypnotherapy aide in coping with traumatic events that cause sleep loss, stress accumulation, or nulling the impactful emotional effects of an unpleasant traumatic event.  Hypnosis, when accepted without confliction, helps one claim control over a range of challenging behavioural tendencies.

The right combination of therapies can open doors to optimal health for quality of life.

The Stress of Survivors

Employment consumes most of daily regiments, annually, claiming an average of 120-160 hours per month or more.

Team settings offer companies daily efforts, loyalties and problem-solving skills, targeted for establishing creative strategies and elevating the company's standards.  Employees are more than valuable assets that represent a company's brand--they create success for the company, at times with personal costs to their domestic lives.

Common fact but ugly truth that no one wants to hear but accepts early in life: Competition, for a team, doesn't only mean against other teams...  the basis of employment is survival; it also means competition with each other.  Unfortunately, this fact harbouring within the conscious, can and does instigate unfavorable behaviours among team settings, often dismissed without a care.

For example, in the medical fields and the private domestic sector, overlooked arenas that demand continuous empathy, diligence, human understanding, physical and emotional demands of caregiving, are extremely high in burnout rates, yet professional teams and dedicated individuals continue to strive daily, providing care for patients with challenging symptoms, regardless of accumulated personal stress.

In any and every service field, as commonly known, daily stress accumulated can and does cause detriment to the mind and body.

Repetitive trauma, through experienced triggers, physically cause decrease of  hippocampus cells  within the brain, over time, resulting to various difficulties including the difficult to register emotional proceses and make beneficial decisions.

This alone can and does cause the quality of care or services, provided within employment, to waver or degrade.

Why should this be a concern?

The quality of care and services offered to loved ones and others makes all the difference. If we doubt down our standards for ourselves, we automatically do this for our loved ones, thus, what's keeping us from doing this to others (ex. clients, companies, etc.)?

While common facts are mentioned:

Good leaders that care about company progress, also care for their teams and employees; they strive to cultivate healthy balance for all company departments. A good leader sees the company as a healthy functioning body, knowing his or her efforts and decisions reflect the mind of that body. When one department declines in production or quality, as any organ in the human body, other departments will be affected   thus attention to all department remains crucial for maintaining success.
